Cloud Brooch

These vitreous enamel cloud brooches were created through a laborious process. Each copper base was hand cut and hammered repeatedly over stakes. Sterling silver brooch back was then soldered to the copper. Then vitreous enamel power was meticulously sifted over the copper blank, which was later kiln fired. This process was repeated several times. After enameling, a brass pin was fitted to the brooch.
The brooches come in two different finishes: smooth and rough. This was achieved by altering firing temperature and firing time.
Each brooch is one-off.
